ASI Network
Avalon Systems (ASI) Network Technical Profile
The Avalon Systems, Inc. (ASI) network has been engineered from the
ground up to provide the fastest speeds coupled with the most
reliability. Our entirely switched, Cisco powered network employs
Cisco 7513 class routers and top of the line APC UPS equipment to
accommodate the high-availability demands of the internet's most
popular websites.
Connectivity
ASI utilizes connections to multiple Tier1 backbones,
such as UUNET and Verio to ensure that data reaches the end-user in
the fastest, most efficient manner possible. The latest expansion of
the ASI network data center has included a doubling of the server
co-location area, the addition of an OC3 circuit, and a new T3 to
UUNET.
BGP4 Routing
ASI runs the Border Gate Protocol (BGP4) for best case
routing. The BGP4 protocol is a standard that allows for the
evaluation of each packet of information sent out from the ASI
network. Each packet of information is evaluated and sent over the
fastest route possible.

UUNET Network Topology
Bandwidth Utilization
The ASI Network currently operates at less than 50% capacity during
peak hours. This allows for us to accommodate even the largest
spikes in traffic that are often associated with the most popular
websites. We are always adding network connectivity and new routes
in an effort to make sure content is delivered to end users as
efficiently as possible. Because the ASI network is multi-homed,
downtime is virtually eliminated. |
